Lanchester Lee puppet, Joey. Waldo Lanchester was a puppeteer who founded the Lanchester Puppetry Company in 1935 and it closed in 1962 I believe.
The Clown is in good condition. The lower leg of the trousers needs sewing to gather at the ankle. There is a repair to the right trouser knee. The taffeta lace ruff is good.
The puppet has a control which doesn't look originalwith several parts to control movements, legs, arms etc.
It appears to be quite a rare item.
Box is good with the details of who dressed the puppet. These were usually sold as kits but some were sold already made up and painted.
