TYPE LS Zumbo
Type LS Zumbo the Zulu Chieftain from early 1950's.
He is one of the rarer LS puppets to find and seems to be rarer than Mumbo possibly.
He is in good used condition, just the fur is shedding.
The raffia skirt is beautifully brightly coloured and the pieces are good.
He has real fur hair which has flattened at the back from lying in the box. The fur stole is slightly shedding from ageing or moth damage.
The difference between Mumbo, his wife, is the stole and the face paint. Zumbo has war paint on his cheeks.
The fur stole is usually white and brown, sometimes plain brown. He doesn't wear earrings but has ankle rings.
This version has composition hands and bamboo limbs, the brown paint has adhered well but there is loss around the half ball feet.
There is a little bit of paint loss around the pin to the skirt at the back as seen.
The box has a damaged label and wasn't his original box, the name stamp has been crossed out and his name handwritten.
Instructions are included.
